About us

ASEAN stands at the crossroads of climate challenges and solutions. As a region rich in critical resources and carbon-dense landscapes, it holds immense potential to pioneer green growth. By leveraging initiatives such as carbon markets, cross-border renewable energy collaborations, and partnerships for critical minerals, ASEAN is transforming climate risks into opportunities.

Building on the success of the inaugural ASEAN Climate Forum in Jakarta in 2023—which spotlighted the expansion of carbon markets and introduced the ASEAN Alliance on Carbon Markets under Indonesia’s ASEAN chairmanship—the forum returns in 2024 to continue driving progress.

The 2024 ASEAN Climate Forum, hosted once again in Jakarta, will convene leaders and policymakers to propel ASEAN’s carbon strategies, foster green energy cooperation, and highlight Malaysia’s ASEAN-BAC chairmanship in advancing sustainability and climate action. Together, ASEAN is forging a resilient and sustainable future for Southeast Asia.
